This article is principally for my foreign / Erasmus friends! I thought it would be nice to share some pictures from the Christmas time in order for you to discover what this can be in France.
First of all, the Christmas tree... quite small this year since the numerous presents would almost have been able to hide it!
Here, the Christmas table, just before starting to eat...
Simple, classic and very nice! Admire the fire place ;)
We began with oysters and some smoked haddock (a kind of fish). We eat them with a lot of toasted bread, it's really delicious. For those who have never tried oysters before that won't look
great, and at first I didn't like it either but little by little I appreciate them.
After that, we had some very good FOIE GRAS. I'm quite sure everyone has heard about it, it is a kind of paté, but sweeter and really delicate. We eat it also with toasted bread and that's my
favourite part of all holidays' meals! Christmas would not be Christmas without some foie gras :)
Well, unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the main course which was some duck breasts with apples, turnips and potatoes. That was also very good! After such a meal, no one was hungry
anymore so we just ate some chocolates and watch a movie all together.
What made that Christmas so particular was that I brought some nice presents from Prague. In those was a soft toy, "Krtek the little Czech mole" for my little brother and he loves it!! Here he
is playing with it ;)
